How much weight can I lose in 1 month (30 days) ???

I gained about 20-25lbs this past year because I had to quit my job and I wasn't very active. Now, in about one month, I will be seeing people I haven't seen in over a year and I want to look and feel good. I know its not possible to lose 20lbs in 1 month unless I got lipo and starved myself but i want to lose at least 15lbs, so 4lbs a week. I am 22 years old, don't drink, and eat healthy for the most part. I own a treadmill as well. I am so depret to lose this weight. NONE of my shorts fit from last year and most of my pants don't either. i giained most of my weight in my bum! lol

You can certainly reach your goal. Part of the healthiness of it depends on how much you currently weigh however. So search online for "figure correct weight for height" or "ideal body weight" to find out how to calculate your BMI (body mass index). Forgive me if you already knew that. But if you are twenty pounds outside of your BMI range than you can pursue this goal relatively healthily. The goal should be though to have a lifestyle change not just a short weight loss. The key is to simply burn more calories than you take in and to increase your lean muscle mass at the same time. Lean muscle mass burns calories while you aren't working. So lifting light weights daily with high reps combined with extended endurance on your treadmill should get you there. Drink eight full glasses of water each day to help cut down on cravings and eat a lot of foods like celery that take more calories to digest than they give you to burn. Be sure you continue to give yourself the nutrients you need as well as a healthy dose of calories. If you are going to pursue this goal seriously you will want to check in with your physician or a nutritionist to be sure you keep yourself healthy and don't overdo it in the middle. After all, who doesn't gain a few pounds now and then? I am sure they will think you are just as wonderful as you always were even if you don't lose a pound. Oh, and by the way, get out in the sunshine for at least twenty minutes a day...that will help with the depression (if it wasn't just a figure of speech) and keep you from emotionally eating a bit more too.

Honestly, it really matters how much weight you have on right now. If you are really heavy, then yes you could easily do that. If you are moderate to thin, then chances are very slim. Well, not in a healthy manner anyway. I do know when I workout, I always gain five pounds the first month, then drop dramatic the second, like ten pounds, for a total weight loss of five. But then I am average weight, so every pound shows.

It depends on your current weight. I will offer a warning: losing weight faster than 2-3 pounds per week results in a loss of water weight and muscle - not fat. So, if you do take drastic measures, you are setting yourself up for failure in the long run. The weight will come back on and then some.

Start drinking a lot of water, eating 1200-1500 calories a day (I'm not sure your current weight...do research as to how many calories you should eat for your current weight to loss weight) and lastly - a really effective thing to do would be pilates. Try Winsor Pilates. They claim you can drop a pant size in a week or so and according to my experience, it's not that far from the truth. Do a 20 minute pilates routine 4 times a week and a 60 minute routine twice a week. Your pants will fit better, I promise. You might not lose 20 lbs (again, you really don't want to lose it that fast!) but you'll see a visible difference.

You have one month to lose weight, that will be 4 weeks, realistically one 1/2 pounds in a week is possible. I help many people do this, make sure to stay between 1400-1600 calories and 40-60 carbs per day for a steady 3 months and you should be able to take all of that weight off. To achieve this, you must do 20 minutes of cardio every day 7 days a week. 20 minutes only is fine but 7 days a week. Jumprope is a good starter for a couple minutes of cardio just keep it going for another 18 after that. My suggestions for you to start eating turkey, cheese, eggs, cottage cheese, unsweetened green and white tea from trader joes. 22 almonds per day, 14 walnut halves on days that you do not eat the almonds. This should help you lose for sure. Hope this helps, good luck to you, Lanea

Quite often on a straight food reduction diet, there can be a drop of 7lbs in the first week, mostly fluid, all the diet companies know this and their ads reflect it to encourage you to take them up.  After the first week, look at about 2lb/week.
If you intend to increase exercise, remember you may put on weight, exercise will increase muscle and reduce fat, muscle weighs more than fat, volume for volume, but look thinner cos everything is toning up and muscles are able to slide together without fat over and between.  Also, internal fat may go before external fat, which may have an influence on appearance.

you can lose one half to two pounds per day or between three and a half to 14 pounds in seven days if u eat fruit and protein-rich food
If you only lose half a pound per day, you probably fall in the category of a person who has either dieted too much and so that your body is hoarding fat, or you have a slow metabolism, or you do not require such a diet. If you are obese, then you should lose up to two (or possibly more) pounds per day and give yourself a good pat on the back for the jump-start into a heart healthy vegetable-, fruit- and protein-rich lifestyle.
    so have a look

Alot of it depends on you and how motivated you are to good diet and exercise.  If you are highly stressed the exercise will help you deal with that. . .
