Does ringing in the ear mean anything (spiritually)?

I get the deafening tone and high pitched ringing every now and then. Probably 10 times a year. Today it happened once... Then a few minutes later happened again. I never had it happen back to back. I am not talking about tinnitus, I am talking about the ringing most of us experience in our lives. I am just wondering if it has any spiritual significance... I heard many things growing up, like its an angel trying to get your attention, or someone is thinking about it... Does it mention anything about this in the bible or is it just something that the body does and has no spiritual significance?

Now I too would love to read an answer regarding spiritual reasons for this, and will be following to see what comes up, but I have heard that it is actually the ear losing the ability to hear that note/pitch/frequency and it is the last time you ever hear it, but I don't remember how I got this info and also think that it has happened to me so many times I'd be deaf by now so like you I be waiting for some cool answers.

I'm guessing since you asked this question you are predisposed to believing supernatural explanations for naturally occuring phenomena. However, since I do not believe in that stuff I feel it would be unethical of me to put such nonsense in your head.

If the ringing is intense or long in duration, you should get answers from a medical doctor, not a book of made up stories.  Here is some information from the Mayo Clinic:

      http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/tinnitus/DS00365

Ringing in the ears can be a sign of circulatory trouble or early onset hearing loss.  Seek medical attention for a serious problem.

And, though some medical doctors are well-meaning souls, most are clueless robots following the Rockefeller method of medicine -- drugs and surgery. Big Pharma pays for all that and Drs. follow like willing sheep. Medical is only half the picture.

I have Tinnitus.  It did not start as bad as it is now.  It was "those little back to back, and once in a while" incidences and has escalated to full blown hearing loss and tinnitus, which I hope to be able to afford the treatment for someday soon... it drives me crazy.
So, if there is a spiritual significance, please let me know... I must have a whole herd of angels watching over me - which by the way is not a problem for me to believe... I know they are there.

I've read that it's calcium deposits that explain the high-pitched tone that I get every once in awhile, plus the near-constant drone of background noise I've had for most of my life.

Occasionally, I've also gotten bright, pinpoints of green light in my vision. I've wondered if some of my retina cells were dying or just getting excited.

Spiritual? Perhaps. I would never rule that out.

The noises from the sky in recent months from places around the globe may be trumpets of angels, or as one scientist described, reactions of the upper atmosphere to solar storms. Whatever the reason, 2012 is setting some records on a number of fronts -- noises in the sky, high-energy earthquakes, record-setting series of tornadoes, birds falling from the skies, fish washing up on the beach dead and much more that seems biblical in nature.

We've already had many of the signs found in Revelation over the years. The re-establishment of Israel in 1948. The great star named Chernobyl ("wormwood" in Ukrainian) which spread its pestilence across 1/3 of the world (and stars are nuclear reactors) in 1986. And the Rockefellers have already tipped their hand that they intend to have us all microchipped without which we will be unable to buy or sell anything (mark of the Beast, Rev.13) -- mentioned to the late Aaron Russo in 2000, lauded in the nightly news as something to expect in 2017, and portrayed in popular movies like the latest James Bond.

As far as the noise in the ears, dairy products seem to make it worse. CalMag seems to help, plus vitamin B (chelated).

They have been ironically testing the micro chips on pets since 2000. They started it not for the safety of the pets, but to see how well they track and work being beneath the skin. I agree that that may in fact be the mark of the beast.

I experienced this phenomenon often with Kundalini awakening.  After I went through the experience, the frequency of it was greatly reduced and I seldom if ever experience it now.  It was not tinnitus or medical it was a part of a spiritual transformation and opening up to "hear" other realms and dimensions.  I won't go beyond that here because I don't want to offend anyone's spiritual beliefs or lack thereof, but suffice it to say in short, there can indeed be reasons for it not limited to physical ailments only.

You mean a physical ringing in the ear? None at all. But the "little inclination" you "feel" when something isn't right is called your conscience, though. It's the Holy Spirit: : "Yours ears shall hear a word behind you, saying, 'this is the way, walk in it' whenever you turn to the right handor whenever you turn to the left" (Isaiah 30:21).  Any thought or inclination you may have that is not according to Scripture is most definitely not the Holy Spirit (John 16:13, Isaiah 8:20, 1 Timothy 4:1, Hebrews 1:14 and 1 John 4:1).
Also, not to scare you, but you may also be experiencing a very common form of Tinnitus, where you'll experience high pitched ringing in your ears. Have you ever checked out WebMD.com? Check it out, because they are normally very good with helping people figure out medical concerns.

It may or may not have spiritual significance. But one thing is certain. It is a distraction. Intensify your love and one-pointedness for God and if it is indeed spiritual, it will go away. Ask Him to take it from you. It can be a distraction to inner peace, something infinitely more important.
Finally, one should not exclude the physical. Tinnitus, as you say, other ear imbalances, or a lack of trace minerals such as manganese or selenium. Try some.

ii3rittles:  When I saw the number of answers already posted, I wasn't going to respond to the question--until I read them and found out nobody seems to know where you're coming from.

I do know, 1000%.  In late 1972, as the result of intense spiritual searching, I opened up to these sounds.  I consider them to be total blessings, certainly not distractions--although one awesome visual, the Blue Light, manifested so strongly one day in 1986 that I could barely see the page of clerical work I was processing.

In my case, one or another internal sound is almost always present (since '72).  They are, to my understanding, endless movements of Spirit itself.  Each difference indicates its source, ranging from just beyond this physical world to the astral, causal, mental, etheric worlds, and possibly beyond that.

I'm so accustomed to these sounds that I ignore them most of the time...sort of like Sampson ignoring his hair except when he needed supernatural strength to whack bad guys.  I'm listening now, though, because your question reminded me to do so.  This particular sound is a bit like a high electrical hum, except at a higher pitch, a little too high to be properly called a hum.  Other sounds range from a low, vibrant thrum to a sweet yet piercing whistle almost beyond the range of hearing.

Since it's been a long time since I read the Bible (I'm a member of a non-Christian religion), I won't address that part of your question--but I have NO doubt whatsoever that the sound you're hearing does indeed have spiritual significance.

I'd hate to be without it.

I´m convinced that everything in life is spiritual because there is no existence outside the spirit. And I know for real everything we´re focused on will happen to us, doesn´t matter when.
Once I had something similar experienced. I didn´t hear this ringing but on my back and my head I felt millions of little needles pricking me. I asked Ramtha because I thought this could be something spiritual too. We always try to give things a meaning if we don´t understand it. But Ramtha only said that it´s only real because I believe it is. And what shall I say? It´s gone.

I think everybody gets a little bit of tinnitus from time to time, but who that doesn't mean to say you're not experiencing something spiritual. The powers that be contact us in many ways. Perhaps you are getting some sort of message. I would advise seeing a doctor about it to rule out tinnitus.

During astral projection, intense vibrations that come with the separation will be heard in the ears. It may be that? It sounds more like a speeding train than a ring though.

Absolutely, yes. I have chronic tinnitus as a result of Meniere's Disease, but there is definitely a type of ringing that is completely distinct from regular tinnitus and I do believe it has spiritual connections. I've actually experienced it a lot recently, so this is funny timing.

I went with my fiance to an animal adoption facility he volunteers at that is deep within the woods. I'm new to the area so I don't know my way around. I waited in the car while he went in and not five minutes after he was gone, I started to feel this intense pressure in my ears, as if I were submerged under water. A strange ringing (it was much softer than my usual tinnitus, and in both ears) started. My vision shifted and I became extremely nauseous and lethargic. A few minutes after we left and drove away, it disappeared.

Fast forward to a couple of weeks and we returned to the shelter. Again, I waited in the car and again I had the same experience. When I told my fiance about it, he informed me that this place was known as a "hot spot" for supernatural activity, and without knowing it the owner actually built it on what was later discovered by the town to be a massive burial ground for one of the tribes that originally lived here.

The other day, we were across town and I experienced this same feeling. We were at the gas station so I jokingly said to my fiance, "Well, I guess that wasn't supernatural after all because I'm feeling the same exact thing." He got a strange look and pointed across the street, showing me that we were right across from a nightclub that had burned down years ago, trapping hundreds of poor souls who were unable to escape. The site is a burial ground and memorial.

So, yes, due to these experiences, I definitely think that ringing in the ears is a type of sign of something spiritual going on. I'm not sure what it means, but it's an unnerving experience, to say the least.

Actually it's kind of both, there is a scientific fact and there is a superstitious fact. The scientific fact is that you could be having unbalanced feelings but they might  coincide with the superstitious fact. It could be a spiritual sign of ghost, of somebody's speaking your name good or bad there is also a possibility of energy resurgence. Another is you're picking it up with of vibrations. For further reference if you're very serious about this I would recording time and date emotions feelings is there a certain somebody that you bring up or talk about is there a certain event that happens? Things like that write that stuff down and there should be a correlation between these things between the ringing and then a variable which would be like I said names places dates feelings intuitions. As far as I know I I haven't heard any facts in the Bible that says about ears ringing it's more of a wives tale, there are also superstitions from multiple cultures.

I agree, my ears have "rang" all my life.  Ear testings still pick up strong high and low sound vibrations.  Ear problems come and go with the changing weather.  I also believe there is a heightened energy awareness out in nature if we are aware.

I feel that it is most definitely a spiritual ring. I've had them randomly through out my life and if you pay attention to the happenings around each ring you will start seeing what they mean. I have found the left ear rings are people thinking and talking good things about you. The right ear well its bad. If the ring is strong and high pitched its really good or really bad. Low pitch or a deep hum just means they just are talking about
you. My father and my uncle were identical twins. The twin power is true I watch them use it my whole life. my father used it on me once and a while. In 2004 he was in a bad car accident and was killed. At 2:37 pm I was at work and my right ear started ringing so loud that I had to stop working and go sit down. 3 hours later I found out at 2:37pm he was killed. I know it was him that made my ear ring. My uncle instantly new also.

there are many symptoms you experience as your vibrations increase whether the increase is do to chakra work or receiving an attunement. The ringing in the ears is one Ascension symptom you experience.

after opening the brow chakra you will experience pressure between the eye brows. Accompanying this will be a ringing in the ears that could be very loud to the point it eventually gives you headaches. You must understand that opening and clearing chakras does not come without an increasing in your energy vibrations, Ringing in the ears is something you will get use to you.

A faint ringing sound in any one of the ears which is a lot like the flutter of wings symbolizes the presence of your Guides, like a short resonating frequency, a signal to your consciousness of an angelic presence or a subtle message from a higher entity.

When you notice this going on in your ears:

First take a moment and look around to see what is going on or what you are doing or about to do. recollect the thoughts you where having when the ringing started.

Second acknowledge that someone is trying to get your attention. This may be an Angel, Guide, an ancestor or divine creator. This is done by simply saying “Hello thank you I hear you, can you speak slower so I may not miss what you are trying to tell me”.

Once you do this be ready to have energy surrounding you amplified, sometimes they speak even faster as they are excited that you are acknowledging them. It is okay to laugh when this happens.think of all the times you ran into a friend you had not seen for years and all of a sudden they are in front of you. Your excited to find out everything you can and to share everything with them you raise your energy to try to get everything out at one time. laughter is the best, not only raises your energy level but let’s them know you are happy to meet/hear them.

as your energy level is rising you Ask them to be more clear in what they are telling you. which will make them have to lower their energy to match your vibrations. When this happens you will start to feel, hear and see within your minds eye what they are talking to you about. you now know you have taken the first step in your own Spirit communications, you are receiving divine answers to your questions. become aware of what is going on around you at that moment when you the hear the ringing, you are on the right path to discovering Clairaudient abilities. Spiritualy, some quite respectable people who had astral projection experiences tell me they heard loud sounds in their ear while they were attempting to project themselves, altough they only heard it when they were intentionally tried to do astral projection, and never involuntarily.

Believe in whatever you believe, you should still see a doctor about this, regardless.

I myself hear it and yes i am a spiritual being and i have read almost almost about every spiritual connection. So here it is,It is mentioned in many scriptures and As per Hinduism Its a part of yoga system known as Nada yoga (yoga of sound) .Anahata sounds (or the melody) are the mystic sounds heard by the Yogi at the beginning of his cycle of meditation. This subject is termed Nada-Anusandhana or an enquiry into the mystic sounds. This is a sign of purification of the Nadis or astral currents, due to Pranayama. The sounds can also be heard after the uttering of the Ajapa Gayatri Mantra, "Hamsah Soham," a lakh of times. The sounds are heard through the right ear with or without closing the ears. The sounds are distinct when heard through closed ears. The ears can be closed by introducing the two thumbs into the ears through the process of Yoni Mudra. Sit in Padma or Siddha Asana, close the ears with right and left thumbs, and hear the sounds very attentively. Occasionally, you can hear the sounds through the left ear also. Practise to hear from the right ear only. Why do you hear through the right ear only or hear distinctly through the right ear? Because of the solar Nadi (Pingala) which is on the right side of the nose. The Anahata sound is also called Omkara Dhvani. It is due to the vibration of Prana in the heart.

      TEN KINDS OF SOUNDS

Nada that is heard is of 10 kinds. The first is Chini (like the sound of the word Chini); the second is Chini-Chini; the third is the sound of bell; the fourth is that of conch; the fifth is that of Tantri (lute); the sixth is that of Tala (cymbals); the seventh is that of flute; the eighth is that of Bheri (drum); the ninth is that of Mridanga (double drum) and the tenth is that of clouds, viz., thunder.

Before thou settest the foot upon the ladder's upper rung, the ladder of the mystic sounds, thou hast to hear the voice of thy inner God (Highest Self) in 7 manners. The first is like the nightingale's sweet voice chanting a song of parting to its mate. The second comes as the sound of a silver cymbal of the Dhyanis, awakening the twinkling stars. The next is as the melodious plaint of the ocean-sprite imprisoned in its shell. And that is followed by the chant of Veena. The fifth sound of bamboo-flute shrills in thine ear. It changes next into a trumpet-blast. The last vibrates like the dull rumbling of a thunder-cloud. The seventh swallows all the other sounds. Everything merge in aum the last sound

I still have the high pitch ring, now with a medium hum and the sound of my heart beating...all at the same time. It usually is more noticeable when it's quiet. I never was diagnosed with anything, so I learned to live with it.
By the way, I've been tested and have exceptional good hearing for my age.
